Book publication of the 2011 Aftermath Project featuring the work of grant winner Davide Monteleone

This Kickstarter campaign will support publication of the Aftermath Project grant fifth book, “War Is Only Half the Story, Vol 5,” featuring the work of grant winner Davide Monteleone (“Red Thistle — the Northern Caucasus Journey”), and finalists Elizabeth Herman (“Women Warriors: Bangladesh”), Lara Ciarabellini and Massimo Mastrorillo (“Bosnia and Herzegovina — If Chaos Awakens the Madness”), Carolos Javier Ortiz (“Too Young to Die”) and Miquel Dewever-Plana (“Guatemala: The Other War”).

Russia. XX Century in Photographs at Museum “Moscow House of Photography”

October 2, 2012 opens the “History of Russia in photographs” exhibition at Museum Moscow House of Photography.

The Rodchenko Moscow Art School, part of the Museum,  will host our Moscow Photo Workshop with Davide Monteleone from 3 to 10 January 2013.

Scholarship for young photographers – Moscow Photography Workshop 2013 with Davide Monteleone (VII)

Only 20 days left to apply to the scholarship available to cover 50% of the workshop fee for young photographers under 28 years old.

In order to apply for the scolarship please send us a fotocopy of your Identity Card (passport) and a portfolio consisting max of 15 photos. A portfolio can be a selection of your work or a single project. Each photo must be in Jpeg format. The file no bigger then 1M.

Scolarship application deadline is October 15 2012.

World Press Photo – an interview with Davide Monteleone about the “REVERSED SEÆ” project

The project Reversed Seæ focuses on the Mediterranean Sea, the history, civilizations, and cultures along its shores, and on the changes that recently have swept its coasts.

Davide Monteleone is a documentary photographer who came up the idea for Reversed Seæ during the revolutions in North Africa. He determined to look at the role of the Mediterranean Sea, with its long history and as a point that connected, and divided, three continents. Monteleone was awarded the Follow Your Convictions Grant to pursue the project . Read more…

Rodchenko Moscow Art School – new partnership

We are happy to announce our new partnership with the Rodchenko Moscow Art School that will host our workshop during the week in January and will give us an opportunity to meet the students and professors of the school and to exchange our experience and ideas about photography. The School wearing the name of a famous russian photographer Alexander Rodchenko is part of Moscow Multimedia Art Museum and offers the unique educational program formed on the base of international experience (ICP New York, École National d’Arles, Rijksakademie Amsterdam, Academy of fine arts Vienna. During the workshop we will arrange a meeting with the Russian photoeditors and curators to exchange ideas, discuss the work and, why not, make plans for future projects.
